Linda Plourde is an award-winning photographer who specializes in landscape, nature and abstract compositions. Photography has always been a part of her life since the age of 9 when she was given a Brownie Camera, which she still owns.
Plourde purchased her first digital camera in 2012 and is self-taught and exploratory in her practice. She hopes to convey her passion for the natural world through her photographs. Her abstract photography aims to take away the identifiable subject and convey its texture, emotion, lines, colour, shape, rhythm or structure. Once told her photography was quirky, Plourde identifies with this observation.
She is constantly looking for creative outlets and has now embarked on a journey into mixed media painting that plays off her abstract photography.
Plourde’s exhibition at Suite 204 Studio & Gallery offers a selection of her photography work and her explorations in mixed media painting. Join her for an artist reception on Saturday, June 17, 1-3pm.
